Flavian embracing the opportunity to meet the Farming Minister whereby discussions took place about New Entrants to agriculture & what can be done to attract more people to the industry.
Flavian says: Along with including agriculture, food production & the environment to school curriculums, the government needs to ensure that farming is profitable. This can be done by sorting out the supply chains (farmers need to be paid at cost of production as a minimum) & having more stringent checks on imports (no point having Red Tractor et al if we’re importing products of a lower quality than ours).
Until this is done, no one will want to join an industry that loses money for fun.
